Our school took us on a trip to a deserted island named Devon. The beach was very blue and the breeze was cool. I got sand on my clothes while playing with my friends, so I went behind the trees to change.

When I came back, I found that my schoolmates had already left in a boat. They were halfway through the crossing. I shouted and shouted, but no one heard me as they were already very far. I panicked! I had only school bag with me and I was stuck in this desolated island. I spotted a conch in the water and I quickly grabbed it and used it as a loudspeaker which could amplify my voice. It worked, but no one heard me, as I was wearing a brown shirt which camouflaged me, with the hills behind me.

Then I had another idea. I decided to swim till I got to the other side. I wore my swimsuit and got ready. But when I dived in, I saw a lot of fish, and suddenly I remembered sharks! I was frightened and swam back to the shore.

After a few hours of running around the shore in fear and desperation, I saw a helicopter in the sky going at a great speed. I quickly plucked some colourful flowers and leaves. I stuck them to my spare shirt and a made a flag. I waved the flag at the helicopter. Fortunately, it caught the pilot’s attention. The chopper slowly came towards me and dropped a ladder. I took the ladder and climbed up. I thanked the helicopter crew profusely. They dropped me off on my house terrace. I gladly went home and shared my adventure with my family, who were still confused about why a helicopter landed on the roof.
