NARRATIVE

It was my first day at my new school. I was nervous. I climbed upstairs. A teacher asked me, “Which class are you studying?”

I said “First class.”

But the teacher took me to PP2.

I sat down in a corner and found that everyone was talking. Suddenly a girl with two pigtails came to me and sat beside me. She was continuously staring at me. Then the teacher came inside and asked me to introduce myself. I didn’t understand English, so I said to teacher in Telugu, “I don’t know English.”

She asked for my name in Telugu. I answered. She introduced me in English to all my classmates. The girl who sat beside me raised her hand and said she would be friends with me. I was shocked as well as happy. I said okay. From then onward she has been my best friend.
