Novel: Dear Mrs. Naidu by Mathangi Subramanian.

It’s an interesting and wonderful story. The novel is written in a series of diary entries. The story is about a girl named Sarojini and how she has struggled to get into a good private school. I like this genre a lot. The language is clear and easy to understand. The book is a commentary on our society and country and common people’s struggles. Do poor people have right to education? The book is about social questions like these.

Sarojini, a 12-year-old kid living in Bangalore, writes fictional letters to the great freedom fighter, Mrs. Sarojini Naidu. Every day she is excited to write these letters. But these are actually, in reality, diary entries. She wants to join in a posh private school. She and her friend Deepti use the law called Right to Education to fight for their rights. They also get help from a renowned lawyer in the city.

Will their dream for a better education come true? Read Mrs. Naidu to find out.
