In the movie Barbie, I have noticed that there was no value given to Kens (the male dolls) and all the ruling was done by women, Barbies. Kens weren’t treated equally with Barbies. I am totally against it. In order to form a good society, both men and women should receive equal respect. But in this Barbieland, Kens received no respect and had no value. All they did was listening to Barbie talking.

Ken was a man who didn’t know who he was. He thought he existed only for Barbie. But I liked it when Barbie helped out Ken to find out his real self and recognize the reason for his existence. I liked the Ruth Handler’s idea of creating various types of Barbie dolls: to motivate girls. Additionally, I liked the decision made by Barbie to live in real world and explore it. From the movie I learned we should change with time in order to explore and live life to its fullest. One thing that was not clear in the film was how playing with Barbie dolls in real life affects the Barbies in Barbieland.
